About The Comedy Pub
Vienna’s Home for Stand-Up Comedy
Welcome to The Comedy Pub, a stand-up comedy club in Vienna built for live laughter, sharp jokes and unforgettable nights out. Located at Kettenbrückengasse 7, just a short walk from U4 Kettenbrückengasse, our venue brings together local comedians, international performers, first-time acts, expats, tourists and comedy fans from across the city.
Vienna’s Home for Stand Up Comedy
Before The Comedy Pub, comedy in Vienna often lived in temporary rooms, bar corners and one-off events. Those nights were important, but the scene needed a home.
It needed a place where audiences could discover live comedy every week.
It also needed a stage where comedians could grow through real stage time, real crowds and real feedback.
Today, The Comedy Pub is part comedy club, part creative playground and part community engine. Our stage welcomes complete beginners, experienced local acts and international comedians passing through Vienna.
The audience is just as mixed: locals, expats, students, tourists, office teams, artists and people who simply want a better night out than another normal drink in another normal bar.
Stand up comedy works best when it is close, alive and honest. A microphone, a room full of people and one person trying to make sense of the world.
That is the spark. We built the room around it.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to make Vienna laugh and to help stand-up comedy grow as a serious live art form in Austria. We support comedians by giving them stage time, professional conditions and a real audience. We support audiences by giving them a place where they can find live comedy regularly, in English and German, without needing to search through scattered listings all over the city. The Comedy Pub exists for the nights where strangers become a crowd, silence turns into tension, and one perfectly timed joke shakes the whole room.
Our Vision
Our vision is to become one of Central Europe’s most exciting comedy hubs: a place where local talent, international acts and new comedy formats can meet. We want The Comedy Pub to be the first name people think of when they search for stand-up comedy in Vienna, English comedy in Vienna, German comedy in Vienna or a real comedy club in Austria. Comedy should feel accessible, professional and alive. That is what we are building.
Our Location
The Comedy Pub is located at Kettenbrückengasse 7, 1050 Vienna, connected to The Black Sheep Pub, a cozy Vienna bar where guests can meet before the show, grab drinks and start the night before the comedy begins. This makes the venue ideal for a full night out: drinks at the bar, live stand-up comedy on stage and an easy central location close to U4 Kettenbrückengasse and the Naschmarkt area.
Why The Comedy Pub Matters
The Comedy Pub audience is a lively mix of locals, expats, tourists, students, professionals, artists and comedy lovers.
Some people come because they already love stand-up. Some come because they are looking for something fun to do in Vienna. Some come with friends. Some come alone. Some come for a date night. Some come after work. Some come because they clicked an ad, followed a poster, or made one surprisingly good spontaneous decision.
What connects them is simple: they want a real night out. A night that feels alive. A night that is not predictable. A night where something can happen that only exists in that room, with that audience, on that stage.
That is live comedy.
Our Audience
Stand-up comedy needs a home. Without a home, comedians do not have enough places to grow. Audiences do not know where to find regular shows. New performers do not know where to begin. A scene stays scattered. The Comedy Pub exists to change that. We want Vienna to have a strong, active and respected stand-up comedy scene. We want performers to have a stage. We want audiences to have a place they can trust. We want comedy to become a normal part of the city’s cultural life, alongside music, theatre, cabaret and nightlife. The Comedy Pub is more than a venue. It is a stage, a meeting point, a training ground, a community and, on the right night, a beautifully chaotic laughter machine.

What Makes Us Unique
A Real Comedy Club Stage
The Comedy Pub is not just a bar with a microphone. It is a venue designed around live stand-up: stage, lighting, sound, seating and atmosphere all working together so every punchline has somewhere to land.
English and German Comedy
Vienna is an international city, and our stage reflects that. We host comedy in English and German, making the club accessible to locals, expats, tourists and international performers.
Local and International Talent
Our line-ups include Austrian comedians, Vienna-based performers and international acts from across Europe and beyond. That mix keeps every show fresh.
A Community for Comedians
The Comedy Pub gives performers a place to practice, experiment and grow. From first open mic sets to full solo shows, our stage helps comedians build real experience.
A Better Night Out in Vienna
For audiences, The Comedy Pub offers something different from another normal bar night: live energy, spontaneous moments, sharp jokes and the feeling of being part of the room.
